Funding types
Six ways funding is usually structured
Start from your situation if you're not sure which one fits, or go straight to the type you're after.
The six funding types
We work with retailers, hospitality operators, contractors and transport businesses across these funding types. Sector-specific guides are coming later; for now, start from your situation or the funding type above.
Looking for development finance? SEDFA, IDC and NEF are government and development funders with their own separate application routes: we explain how they differ, rather than sending every enquiry down that path.
How it behaves
Funding doesn't all work the same way
Tied to an invoice
Invoice discounting (debtor finance) advances part of the value of invoices you've already issued, settled as your customers pay.
A general facility
Working capital funding isn't tied to one invoice, asset or purchase order, and is usually repaid on a fixed schedule.
Tied to an asset
Asset finance for a bakkie, truck, machine or equipment, usually repaid monthly over an agreed term.
Diagrams show the shape only, not amounts. Compare invoice discounting with working capital
